Betty I. Wright
October 18, 1932 - April 18, 2012
Betty I. Wright, born in Davenport, Florida on October 18, 1932, but grew up in Toombs County and moved to Savannah at age 17 to take a job with Southern Bell, and later with AT&T. She worked for them a total of 33 years and retired in 1990 as a Pioneer employee.
Her father was Attis Leo Wright, mother was Lola Manes. She was the youngest of seven children, five of whom are deceased. She is survived by one sister, Darlene Lola Watson of Toombs County and one son, Gary D. Applebaum of Savannah, and many nieces and nephews.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, and taking care of her cat, and loved her family and friends. Ms. Wright was seventy-nine 79 ½ years of age.
A memorial service will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel on Friday, April 20th at 11:00 a.m.
